One of the featured attractions at the Fair this year will be Patrick Doyle, chainsaw sculptor. Pat has traveled throughout the United States creating chainsaw sculptures at fairs, festivals, and antique shows. Pat was raised on a farm in Iowa and now carves fulltime at his wooded home acreage and on tour. Starting with simple logs, Pat will create a variety of animals, wildlife and caricatures. The sculptures will vary in size from approximately one foot to like size. Fairgoers will see forms beginning to emerge from the logs within minutes. Pat’s shows will be enjoyable for fairgoers of all ages and interests.
AUCTION OF CARVINGS Sunday, 3:30 p.m. Scheidel Plaza Stage
Pat’s carvings will be auctioned off Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.on the Scheidel Plaza Stage. Proceeds from the auction will be used to help pay for capitol improvements to the fairgrounds.
