Located in the Featherlite Center
Special plantings and exhibits help with your gardening projects. Stop in anytime during Fair week and talk to local Master Gardeners about your projects. Or, leave your gardening question in their “Gardening Box” and a Master Gardener will respond to your questions after the Fair, by phone, mail or email. While you are visiting, you can also enjoy a video of gardens of area Master Gardeners.
Plus … the Master Gardeners will have a weed display set up, to help fairgoers visually identify weeds common to this area, and learn about weed control measures.
Take in these gardening workshops:
Thursday – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. --- “Halos for Angels”
by Master Gardeners Jackie Tallman and Others
Back by popular demand .. Come in and make a floral halo!!
Sunday, 1 p.m. -- PLANT SALE
There will be many annuals and perennials for sale to fairgoers at a very nominal fee.
The members of the Howard County Master Gardeners want to share the abundance of their gardens with others.
The money collected from the sale of the plants will go towards a gardening project in Howard County.
.... A WORK IN PROGRESS ....
In partnership with the Howard County Agricultural Society, the Howard County Master Gardeners have started a “work-in-progress” landscaping for the new Howard County Historical Preservation Center. As you visit the Fair, you will see a large hosta garden already started. Many more plantings will be completed in other areas around the new Center in the months and years to come. Financial support for plantings and plant donations from your own collections are welcome.
This garden is a partnership with the Howard County Master Gardeners and the Howard County Agricultural Society. We hope that this area will be enjoyed by all and provide education and inspiration.
