2007 MIGHTY HOWARD COUNTY FAIR --
4-H and FFA SWINE SHOW
This year’s swine show
had 17 4-H and FFA exhibitors with a total of 82 hogs weighed in at fair
weigh in. In March, 18 members weighed in 102 feeder pigs for fair.
The Champion Derby Gilt and Reserve Derby Gilt were both shown by
Rueben Sprung, Riceville FFA.

I (38 to 54 lbs. starting weight) were;
Ryan
Kreitzer, second blue; Carmen Dohlman, ninth blue; Mitchell Langreck, first and
fifth blues; Wes Dohlman, fourth and seventh blues; Tori Van Dyke, Blue;
Brooke Bodermann, Blue; Carrie Dohlman, eighth Blue; Jonathan Gardner, Red;
Betsy Bakkum, tenth blue; Samantha Grover, third and sixth blues; Dillon
Bodermann, blue.

II (55 to 65 lbs starting weight) were:

blue; Samuel Johnson, eighth blue; Ryan Kreitzer, fifth blue; Carrie Dohlman,

blue.

Placings
were based on meat qualities and the hogs were all ultra scanned at fair weigh
in to calculate lean gain.

Langreck; Fourth blue to Zach Bakkum, Fifth blue to Tori Van Dyke; Sixth blue

The Champion Pen of Three was won by Rueben
Sprung of the Riceville FFA. The Reserve Champion Pen of Three was won by
Samantha Grover from the
The Junior Showmanship award went to Brooke
Bodermann from the
Senior Showmanship award went to Mitchell Langreck,
Crestwood FFA.
Reserve Senior Showmanship award went to Jason Koenigs and
third place was Carmen Dohlman.
The Winner's Class Showmanship trophy was
presented to Carmen Dohlman.
